Why is it that thunderstorms can be peaceful and frightening? I mean isn't that a big contradiction?
On one hand thunderstorms are frightening because they are so loud, dark, and gloomy. In movies you always know something bad is going to happen when there's a change in the temperature.
In The Wizard of Oz it was a tornado.
Yet on the other hand they can be quite peaceful. From the sound rain makes when it hits the roof the roar of thunder, the clash of lightning, and the whistle of the wind you have a small orchestra playing for you. When the lightning hits the dark sky with a bang, the whole sky lights up, which is very beautiful.
Weird huh?
